Tech Mahindra

The MoU between the State IT Department and Tech Mahindra is to launch India’s first ‘blockchain district’, comprising a CoE, an incubator for technology and process development with innovative infrastructure and facilities to foster the growth of Indian blockchain start-ups and companies. Tech Mahindra will provide platform and technology assistance to all the incubators in the facility, the company said.

The Telangana State Information Technology, Electronics, and Communication department (ITE&C) have taken the initiative to build a Center of Excellence for Blockchain, an incubator for technology and process development with innovative infrastructure and facilities to foster the growth of Indian blockchain start-ups and companies. Further, The Telangana ITE&C Department will provide regulatory and policy support to enable and promote Blockchain growth both in India and globally.

IIIT Hyderabad

With IIIT-H, the government would work on protocol development, incubation, acceleration and in identifying various use cases and other related programs to achieve the vision of making Hyderabad a blockchain hub.

 

IT-Hyderabad is not only going to assist ITE&C but is also a global partner of Ripple which is an American payment technology company. Here, the institute had partnered Ripple for its university blockchain research initiative to help shape the workforce of the future.

CDAC

The partnership with CDAC would work to identify various use cases on protocol development, capacity building initiatives, and other related programs.

 

The Union Ministry is also setting up a center of excellence in blockchain here and CDAC is developing a pilot solution of a prototype for the property registration system. If the solution is found to be successful, it could be replicated in other States.

(T-chits Project)

200 Crores of money per month is being collected and disbursed across 2 lakh subscribers per one regulator office in Telangana. There are about 14 such offices across Telangana. We successfully tracked these transactions on Blockchain, and the solution will soon be rolled out across Telangana.

Verifying Students
Credentials

As per the feedback of US Consulate General, a significant fraction of visa applicants submit fake educational certificates. To address this problem, Education Department is now hosting their SSC certificates on Blockchain. A similar solution was also implemented in IIIT Basara.

Land Records
(Dharani & CDAC)

Captures the full details of each property and provides the functionality of changing the ownership of the property. Also allows to search the property history (i.e. the encumbrance details) and validation of the vendor (seller) of the property.

Streenidhi Credit
Cooperatives

A Blockchain solution is being implemented with Stree Nidhi credit cooperative Federation Ltd. in the areas of loan disbursement, repayment, loan request, loan approval and to provide credit rating of each SHG member.

Drug
Anti-Counterfieting

A frugal solution to track & trace and anti-counterfeiting. The pilot is expected to demonstrate the instance level track & traceability of the medicine throughout the supply chain and help provide anti-counterfeiting measures and insight into the medicine inventory.

This ministry in the Government of Telangana State is the Information Technology arm of the government. Nurturing the tech industry in the city, creating an environment that attracts new companies to start operations in the city, enabling and accelerating innovation in the state, promoting the tech industry in the state nationally and internationally, and also chartered with driving the technology adoption within the state government departments.
